Solutions For
Emergency Services
CMIS is an effective e-democracy solution to the regulatory and efficiency pressures on Emergency Services such as fire and police authorities, which can be tailored to meet specific needs. CMIS can assist authorities within the following targets and regulations:
Gershon Efficiencies
CMIS creates efficiencies in line with points 2, 3 and 5 of the Gershon Review. Significant cost savings are achieved by CMIS through the long term elimination of paper. A reduction in the requirement for hard copy documents in turn decreases the need for traditional delivery methods resulting in further reduced costs as distribution is done electronically. CMIS provides a more transparent and dynamic method of working allowing departments to provide higher quality and a greater volume of output for the same effort. The need for duplication of effort (i.e. authoring and publishing multiple versions of the same reports for differing audiences) is eliminated resulting in efficiency gains, supporting allocative efficiencies. Many of these savings are cashable and can be released to enable further enhancements, and higher levels of efficiencies to be obtained.
Many of Enline's CMIS users have found that the major areas where efficiency savings have been identified following the adoption of the system are;
- Printing and Distribution
- General Meeting Management Administrative duties
- Management Reporting
- Dealing with external information queries
Freedom of Information Act 2000
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 imposes a duty on public bodies to become more open and transparent in its dealings with the public by making information more readily available. CMIS can help an Authority to improve departmental efficiencies when dealing with Freedom of Information requests. In line with the Government IEG vision, the core objectives of the CMIS solution are to deliver an effective, transparent, open and accessible service to users based within an Authority; with due regard for privacy and confidentiality. Generally within Emergency Services it is very difficult to find public information, with no ability to read documents online and no search facility to assist this. CMIS dramatically increases Freedom of Information processes within Emergency Services.
The democratic operations of Emergency Services are one of the main areas where the public have an interest and input to the process. This is why the publishing of committee related information via the Internet has been recognised as a priority by organisations such as yours.
E-democracy Process Management
Democratic Boards within Emergency Services consist of a variety of representatives. This results in complicated processes when publishing and communicating decision making information and meeting agendas. Thus, day to day duties within the democratic process are generally time consuming, inefficient and expensive. CMIS can automate this procedure to allow a much more efficient and effective process, allowing for a large reduction in employee time and expenditure on these duties. Additionally CMIS provides a secure e-democracy system, ensures information can be updated quickly and easily, allows an easy to use mechanism for feedback on documents and provides efficient and effective distribution of documents and packs. CMIS effortlessly manages the whole democratic process.
