CMIS Mobile
The information in many web-based systems can be important or even critical for employees to conduct day-to-day business. The need for both fast updates and offline access is high, however in reality there is a gap between the two. There is an ever increasing need for members and officers to be able to work flexibly, whatever their location.
CMIS Mobile is a powerful tool that puts current information at Members' and officers' fingertips wherever they are. It is the first system of its kind to offer you the ability to access up to date democratic services information offline, supporting mobile working strategies.
As an extension to the original CMIS solution, CMIS Mobile synchronises the entire content of your CMIS system from server to laptop (or tablet PC) automatically when network contact is available. The patented Epsilon technology within the solution looks at differences in content between client and server, and sends only what is needed to the client using a compression technology that reduces the size of files from megabytes to kilobytes, resulting in only small amounts of data being transferred. CMIS Mobile's combination of encryption and offline authentication protects confidential content, which would otherwise be stored insecurely on a laptop's hard disk. What the user sees online is what they see offline. CMIS Mobile allows this without the need to re-engineer the web content or re-train existing users. No similar product has the same level of transparency and compatibility.
Features
- CMIS Mobile can provide both fast updates on and offline access to information including:
- Committees and Working Groups
- Meeting Agendas and Papers
- Meeting Minutes
- Public and Exempt Reports (subject to log-in credentials)
- Committee Calendars
- Member Details
- Committee Membership History

- Document Searching
- Employees that need to access and use the information in CMIS are able to do so without being connected to the internal network.
- Transparent, searchable, offline access to CMIS content is provided, with fast, secure and cost effective updates from any location and over any connection.
- The need to print and distribute agendas, minutes and reports is reduced greatly and current day to day tasks are streamlined.
- Browser based technology is provided allowing access from a standard based browser from both your private network and the Internet.
- Employees can work remotely with all required documents to hand and therefore the need for them to move reams of hard copy documents from site to site is reduced.
- Comprehensive management information relating to committees, member services and democratic services administrators is delivered to the desktop even offline.
Benefits
CMIS Mobile offers many benefits to organisations. Amongst these are:
- Communication, printing and distribution and support costs are reduced dramatically. Total savings could ultimately be in the region of £60,000 per year, every year.
- Benefits for the environment are also achieved in terms of reduced paper consumption, emissions from printers and printer toner cartridges and the detrimental impact of transportation.
- Employees can work on Committee documents while they are travelling, and through it's automatic and transparent nature, last-minute changes can be updated and made available to all.
- CMIS can be used in wired, wireless, and offline environments.
- Productivity of employees out of the office is increased.
- Integrates directly with no changes required to CMIS code.
- The system is compatible with Windows 98, 2000, XP Home and Pro.
- Faster download performance is achieved.
- True flexible working around the democratic process can be introduced through CMIS Mobile.
- As CMIS mobile uses a combination of encryption and offline authentication to protect confidential content, which would otherwise be stored insecurely on a laptop's hard disk, security is increased.
